Live Review + Gallery: Filthy Friends and Dressy Bessy at Music Hall of Williamsburg (05.24.19)

On Friday, May 24, 2019, Filthy Friends’ 12 date tour along the east and west coasts of North America came to an end in Brooklyn, NY at Music Hall of Williamsburg. The band, which features Peter Buck (of R.E.M.), Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), drummer Linda Pitmon, bassist Scott McCaughey, and guitarist Kurt Bloch performed in support of their second album Emerald Valley that is out now via Kill Rock Stars.

Filthy Friends were joined by Denver, CO’s Dressy Bessy who I’ve been meaning to see live for a few years now. The band took the stage promptly at 9PM and played a delightful, energetic set, which included a cover of “What Do I Get?” by Buzzcocks.

Filthy Friends played all ten tracks of Emerald Valley plus songs from their debut, The Arrival for the appreciative fans who were in attendance. The show at Music Hall was a fantastic way to begin our Memorial Day holiday weekend.
