Revenge Of The Road: Yungblud

When Covid-19 shut down the global touring industry, artists like Yungblud used their newfound free time to unleash a series of creative projects aimed specifically for fans. During this time, Britain’s pop-punk anti-hero finished his sophomore studio album, launched a weekly web series, and hosted a virtual live show with his closest musical friends. Then, his music went to Mars. After he covered David Bowie’s “Life On Mars,” NASA decided to use the track as the official landing song for the Mars rover, Perseverance. Now, with Yungblud set to bring his Life On Mars Tour  to North America is 2022, Music Existence decided to catch up with Yungblud to talk about life back on the road, go-to road trip songs and more.

1. Best advice for life on the road?

Yungblud: Hide your cigarettes. Give out as many cuddles as you can. Leave everything you have on stage, make sure everyone who came to see you is treated like royalty or you don’t deserve to be there. 

2. Go-to road trip song?

Yungblud: The Cure – “In Between Days” 

3. You can bring any new band with you on tour, who’s coming?

Yungblud: Wet Leg. 

4. What’s something about touring you never thought you’d miss but did over lockdown?

Yungblud: Bad showers.

5. Who will YOU be catching live this year?

Yungblud: As many people as I can. The Rolling Stones first.
