renforshort Drops New Single and Video for “virtual reality”

After a busy 2020 promoting her debut EP teenage angst, alternative pop songstress renforshort is back with a brand new single and video. Her new song “virtual reality” addresses feelings of loneliness and isolation combined with society’s attachment to technology and social media. She stated:

“‘virtual reality’ is a song that tackles many topics. But at its core, it really is about anxiety, routine, boredom, isolation, loneliness, and fear …. I think a lot of people have a very unhealthy relationship with technology because it’s never really been restricted enough to consider mental health and overall health, and that has fucked so many people up, now more than ever.”

The video is a visual and confounding spectacle that sees renforshort navigating her way though a heightened version of the life we live today. Directed by Iris Kim, renforshort has added “virtual reality” to her list of impressive and detailed music videos that never fall short of pure artistic entertainment.

The Canadian teen also caught the attention of Vevo’s DSCVR series, who had her in studio last month to perform two of her newest hits. Check out “virtual reality (Live)” below:
