The 2018 edition of SummerStage, the free concert series that takes place in parks in the five boroughs of New York came to a close with a penultimate benefit concert at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Last night’s sold out event was a benefit concert featuring Blood Orange and Yves Tumor to support the free events that took place in June through September.

Blood Orange & Yves Tumor’s set times were earlier than scheduled to beat the rain (which occurred after the show ended) and Dev Hynes’ set relied heavily from his newest record, Negro Swan, with the full band taking the stage to “Family,” which features spoken word by Janet Mock.

This summer’s free SummerStage events come to an end tonight (Thursday, September 27th) with a performance by Angélique Kidjo (performing her cover album of Talking Heads’ Remain in Light) and Resistance Revival Chorus.
