Interview: Osmunda Music

We are loving your music. Introduce yourselves and tell us a little about who you are and where you are from.

Originally from Santa Fe, currently living on the westside of LA for a few years. I’m a mother to a 12 year old boy. Im a singer, songwriter, producer, and owner of a recording studio in Venice called Earthstar Creation Center. I also recently founded a non-profit organization called Pandion Music Foundation to help independent artists make money with their music.
How would you say where you grew up and where you are from has influenced your music?

My mom and older sibling used to play a lot of different artists growing up, so my influence can come from any era from the 60s to modern pop culture music. All genres of music inspire me, and my influences are really broad, but strong women in the music industry have inspired me like Joni Mitchell or Joan Baez.
Do you play any instruments?  Tell us more about that, how did you learn and when did you start?

I play guitar, percussion, and didgeridoo — I also do production and use the keyboard for loops & grooves. I learned how to play the guitar when I was very young — 8 years old! I didn’t pursue a career as a guitar player, but I still appreciate using it to write music.
What is the best career advice you have been given? Would you share it with us?

I learned to always follow your dream as a musician and don’t be disappointed with how your career in music goes because you can continue to pursue your music career in many ways. Performing, teaching, licensing are just a few ways to earn money as a musician.
Career wise, you have to enjoy your life moment to moment. If your career is not giving you that, you need to look closely at your career choice & put yourself in a position where you’re happy with where you are. There’s so many opportunities in the world!
What goals do you have as an artist for the rest of 2023?
To continue making music in the studio 2-3 times a week, running my non-profit foundation Pandion. As an artist, I also want to look forward to more live performances in the LA area. Also releasing music all year this year!
We know you have some new music on the way. What can fans expect to hear?
I have an album called Take My Hand releasing at the end of this summer. It’s an empowering album that tells the listener that you can do anything and how I as a singer-songwriter can be raw and express my soul. I write music that comes from a place of true sincerity. While it’s fun to write pop songs, I try to find meaning and connection in music that I write. I have a children’s album ready to be released.Tell everyone where they can hear more and follow along with you!

You can find me on all social platforms at Osmunda Music!
