Gallery: John Mayer at TD Garden in Boston, MA (05.10.22)

It’s fair to say John Mayer is one of the biggest artists in the world in the sense that you could ask each generation about him and they would know who he is. After a killer performance from Alexander 23, we knew the night could only go up from there. Kicking off his set with “Last Train Home,” everyone rose out of their seats the moment they heard the snare count off. One of the mysteries we love about John Mayer shows is that you never know what you are going to get for a set but you are also never disappointed with the choices.

For part one of his full band set, we were already given tracks from six different albums proving he is not afraid to spread out his song selection. After kicking it off with the full band, we moved into part two of Mayer’s set featuring him playing solo acoustically. This section featured his notorious “Free Fallin” cover which fans were overjoyed about. Moving into part three, John kicked it off with “Your Body is a Wonderland” after giving a speech about his rocky relationship with the song and how he is reclaiming it in 2022. Part three was littered with hit after hit with Edge of Desire, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, and Gravity championing the end. With respect to everyone’s time, John only walked off stage for a minute to refresh quickly before coming back out and encoring with New Light.
