Amanda Markley has been busy this past year collaborating with a slew of Washington-based artists such as Adamm Mitchell (She Is We), Chase Manhattan (Night Argent), Matt Bacnis, and Chloe Hendrickson on her forthcoming EP, dropping infectious tracks such as “Jealousy” and “Monster” on the way and getting fans excited to hear more. Today, the alternative pop artist is thrilled to announce the official release of her self-titled EP, set for 5/6/16. Here is what Amanda Markley had to say about the process:
“Finishing this EP has been a long process and I am very excited to finally release it. I had to get through some frustrating times to finish the recording, but I’m happy with how it all came together in the end. I decided to self title this EP because it is debuting a new, more mature sound for me and it really shows more of who I am as an artist. I had to stand on my own a lot and get things done to finish this EP, and self-titling it highlights my strength through completion. I hope you all enjoy it!” – Amanda Markley
Markley recently wrapped up production in the studio on a slew of new tracks to be featured on her forthcoming self-titled EP. The first single, “Jealousy” was released in 2015 in a partnership with Cadence & Cause, sending all proceeds of single downloads to the charitable cause of rescuing homeless animals and finding them homes. The EP features five tracks by the singer/songwriter, including the infectious dance-pop track, “Monster,” a stripped down piano version of her hit “Cold,” and a brand new track titled “Fire.” Following this EP release, Markley is headed to Nashville to record a set of new tracks with notable singer/songwriter/producer Will Pugh (Cartel).
