Douglas “YOUNG DOUGIE” Kemp is an American Rapper with styles that reflect his Belizean culture, New York streets and life caught in the flashing lights. This is where flashy meets wittie and intelligence. Grew up in Poughkeepsie N.Y son of Gilda Smith and Douglas Kemp Sr. 1 out of 6 kids. As a youngster he experience lifes ups and downs and used the mic to overcome lifes curves. fell in love with music from the early days, his influences came from golden oldies his mother used to play. Artist such as Rick James, Marvin Gaye, Tina Marie, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, 2pac, Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie and Joe Buddens really attracted him to music as a teen growing up. Music was used as an outlet, then around age 17 Dougie took his friends advice and pursued his passion in music.
