ATARASHII GAKKO! and 88rising Partner With Microsoft for RPG, QuestAG

The Tokyo-based and wildly special four-girl progressive pop-group ATARASHII GAKKO! have partnered with 88rising and Microsoft to create the interactive story game QuestAG!, launching today. Powered by Azure OpenAI Service, QuestAG! lets users roleplay alongside one of the AG! members on a journey to help the group conquer the Monsters of Fear. The game is the first collaboration with a music artist to create an interactive story powered by Azure OpenAI Service. Check it out HERE!

The custom website, powered by GPT 3.5, allows fans to play a text-based experience, with interactive user prompting and real-time AI-assisted narration. QuestAG! allows players to work toward their own ending to each chapter and new chapters will be released into early 2024. In the coming weeks, ATARASHII GAKKO! will be sharing a behind the scenes video of their experience making the game in their home country of Japan.

QuestAG! arrives just before the group’s first ever U.S. tour this week. The already sold out SEISHUN Tour kicks off at Los Angeles’ The Fonda Theatre on November 7th and runs through the month wrapping the North American leg at Mexico City’s Corona Capital festival. Earlier this year, the band played Head In The Clouds’ LA and New York festivals, giving U.S. audiences a taste of the group’s unapologetic authenticity on stage. Full tour dates are listed below.

Most recently, the group released “Tokyo Calling,” a song reflecting on the harsh realities of daily life, even in their beloved home city. However, in classic ATARASHII GAKKO! fashion, the group works its way to a triumphant and euphoric chant of “we are marching!” The song’s music video, directed by Pennacky, depicts the four-piece in a gigantic form, on a mission to rescue Tokyo citizens from the negativity of monotony.

North American tour dates:

Nov. 7 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Fonda Theatre
Nov. 8 – San Francisco, CA @ The Regency Ballroom
Nov. 10 – New York, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Nov. 11 – Washington, D.C. @ Black Cat
Nov. 13 – Toronto, ON @ The Axis Club
Nov. 15 – Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall
Nov. 16 – St. Paul, MN @ Amsterdam Bar & Hall
Nov. 18 – Mexico City, MX @ Corona Capital
