ItsENJ was formed by Nigerian brothers Chimdi and OTITO (also known as the Dapper Duo), who are currently based in Bronx, New York. The duo’s style combines the cultural influence and diversity of Afropop and soul, which is given merit through their shared experience in songwriting, performing arts, and audio production. Especially in the latter field, the brothers’ company, ENJ Productions, continues to support a vast artist clientele, furthering their influence on an international level.
Recently, ItsENJ released the music video for “Moonside (A Tale of Two Sides),” the fifth track off their debut EP, Born on the Moon. The video highlights the brothers’ reality of being confined to their home country in the wake of Covid-19. In one perspective, controversial social issues, both local and abroad, are shown in a desensitized, faded color palette. On the flip side, however, a clearer, humble shot of the brothers at home is shown, their creativity and positivity maintained despite the extent of their circumstances.
