Randi Fay is a multigenre singer/songwriter based in Green Bay, Wisconson. Initially, Fay held an extensive career in veterinary medicine before a debilitating hand injury would force her out of it in 2001. A decade later, after regaining her momentum by way of non-profit work, music fast became one of Fay’s primary goals. She earned a Master’s Certificate in Songwriting through Berklee College of Music’s online component, as well as a teaching certification in the BAST method of vocal instruction, while, at the same time, building a solid collaborative presence in her local music scene. Today, Fay has received numerous awards for her symphonic electronica compositions, a product of her partnership with producer Aaron Zinsmeister.

Fay’s latest single, “Lone Wolf,” to be in included in her upcoming Indiegogo campaigned album, Intuition, serves as the ideal accompaniment for the progression of romantic pursuit. Both the song and video highlight those aspects well, with shifting warm and brisk color palettes depending on vocal tonality and instrumental involvement. As a whole, the presentation represents the many nuanced phases of love – from infatuation to security, to uncertainty, to distance, and back again, all occurring within a seemingly never-ending cycle. Even with its release still on the horizon, I’m already looking forward to how the album will further express these thematic leanings.

About Jake Kussmaul

I come from a family who is passionate about all things music. I learned to sing at an early age, and by 13, had my very own Fender Strat guitar. I tried my hardest at learning all that I could. Because I was born with cerebral palsy, I had to teach myself an adaptive playing style. I learned to write and record my own music, despite these difficulties. In college, I started making great use of my writing abilities by reviewing music, as well as copy editing. I guess it's best to stick with what you know, while welcoming a fair challenge at the same time.
