LA-based indie pop artist BLOODBOY – the moniker of surfer-turned-musician Lexie Papillion – has unveiled her new single “Keep Your Disease.” The track premiered exclusively at Consequence of Sound, who calls it “a defiant anthem.” Bloodboy has been buzzing atop the LA music scene throughout the summer with performances at Union Station for KROQ/Livenation’s new “Ones to Watch” series, along with a packed set at Echo Park Rising. The 25 year-old has also been a steady presence at KROQ’s “Locals Only” show, recently reaching #1 with her last single “Hey Kid.”
“The song is from the perspective of this sort of omnipotent, subliminal figure on a megaphone projecting these deeply rooted societal constructs and the ‘disease’ that is referenced is actually your true inner desires,” explains Bloodboy. “It’s kind of a call to action – a ‘wake the fuck up, do you even know yourself at all?’ Bloodboy will release her debut EP this fall and will continue to perform regionally and throughout the LA area.
