The UK-based extreme metal outfit DRAGGED TO SUNLIGHT will not only return Stateside this year for a much-awaited performance at Maryland Deathfest, but will also deliver aural annihilation across the country on a four-week summer tour, their first U.S. trek in four years. The group will be joined at all shows by Primitive Man, with additional support on select dates from Cult Leader, Churchburn and MAKE. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, January 20th here.

“N.V.” — the aurally destructive new collaborative album from DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT and Gnaw Their Tongues, “two of the most unnerving, raw, violent acts in the entire world” (Meat Mead Metal) – made its debut in November to admirable critical acclaim. Depicted by the UK’s Guardian Newspaper as “a violent collision between two giant, squirming slabs of fleshy nihilism,” “N.V.” consists of 30 claustrophobic minutes of blackened noise that were five years in the making. Both entities rigorously designed a distinct collective sound heavily inspired by Godflesh’s “Streetcleaner” while reaching toward dark industrial spaces upon which both bands’ previous material had only briefly touched. To complete the circle of influence, Godflesh’s Justin Broadrick was on board to produce the record along with Tom Dring (whom previously has worked on several DIS releases, including 2012′s “Widowmaker”).
