Interview: Dark Remedy discusses their latest single, “Now Or Never”

Dark Remedy is an emerging hard rock outfit launched by principal songwriters Steven Miller (lead vocals/lead guitar) and Cary Parsons (rhythm guitar/backing vocals). While Miller is an established producer who crafts the band’s material at his studio in Yorktown, Virginia, Parsons has also gained traction as a wrestler under the moniker Mr. Sinister, as well as part of Virginia Beach-based band Sinister X. Last year, Dark Remedy started on a clean slate with former Saliva drummer Paul Crosby, who stepped in as both their manager and drummer. Following the band’s revamp, as fate would have it, their first two singles for 2023 with this new configuration, “Bloody Money” and “Haunted,” would make a solid impression on radio, peaking at number 15 and number 24 on the Secondary Market Rock Charts. Now, their follow-up single, “Now Or Never,” is sustaining that momentum with the recent release of its accompanying music video, which has already amassed over 100 thousand views after a mere two weeks on YouTube.

Yesterday, I caught up with both Steven Miller and Cary Parsons to discuss Dark Remedy’s success thus far, the intricacies of their artistic approach, and, as our conversation unfolds, the true meaning behind their latest single.

About Jake Kussmaul

I come from a family who is passionate about all things music. I learned to sing at an early age, and by 13, had my very own Fender Strat guitar. I tried my hardest at learning all that I could. Because I was born with cerebral palsy, I had to teach myself an adaptive playing style. I learned to write and record my own music, despite these difficulties. In college, I started making great use of my writing abilities by reviewing music, as well as copy editing. I guess it's best to stick with what you know, while welcoming a fair challenge at the same time.
