Interview: Liam Horne discusses new single, “All On Me”

Liam Horne is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland. As part of a traveling music-loving family, his move to Los Angeles would pay off tremendously. By 2012, the very first song he’d written, “Out of Town Girl,” was given to pop icon Justin Bieber to record. Bieber, whose career had experienced a massive upswing at the time, would include the track as part of his third album, Believe. But Horne would also make inroads with his own recorded output, armed with a sound combining soulful beats, breezy vocals, and an alternative rock bite.

In 2015, Horne’s first bout of success came when his single “Black and White” reached over one million streams through Spotify alone, and such success would further catalyze both his profile and acclaim as a recording artist. On June 16th, 2023, Horne released his latest single, “All On Me”. Additionally, he has a new batch of songs planned for release throughout the coming months, followed by an accompanying tour.

Yesterday, Horne was available for an interview. Alongside our discussion of his music, we also touch upon his upbringing, his breakthroughs in maintaining sobriety, as well as balancing his personal life and career.

About Jake Kussmaul

I come from a family who is passionate about all things music. I learned to sing at an early age, and by 13, had my very own Fender Strat guitar. I tried my hardest at learning all that I could. Because I was born with cerebral palsy, I had to teach myself an adaptive playing style. I learned to write and record my own music, despite these difficulties. In college, I started making great use of my writing abilities by reviewing music, as well as copy editing. I guess it's best to stick with what you know, while welcoming a fair challenge at the same time.
