Currently on tour in support of the highly anticipated sophomore album, The Ghost of Ohio, Andy Black is enjoying success on the charts as well as on the road. While Black’s tours tend to lend themselves to a more intimate show than fans may be used to in comparison to Black Veil Brides, the Asbury Park set was on another level. Part rock show, part Q&A, part stand up comedy, Black was endlessly charismatic and open among the intimate crowd gathered at the Asbury Lanes. With two albums worth of sing-along-worthy material, and a strong setlist featuring fan-favorites like “They Don’t Need to Understand,” “Ribcage,” “Westwood Road” and the Gerard Way collaboration “Louder Than Your Love,” Black delivers a seriously entertaining good time.
