Dominique Tey debuts new single, “Every Part”

After dazzling us with her brilliant debut single ‘Heartstream’ back in June, Stockholm native Dominique Tey returns with her glorious new release ‘Every Part’, set to feature on her forthcoming debut EP.

Since finding prominence in her initial outfit MASSAI, Tey has proven herself to be an awe-inspiring solo performer. With comparisons to the likes of Beach House and Cocteau Twins, as well as support from The Line Of Best Fit and Clash, the Swedish frontwoman looks to continue her upward ascent with her latest offering. Dominique topped off last summer by featuring in Paper Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Pop Music.

‘Every Part’ excels on a bed of electronic texture and rhythm that twists and turns with Tey’s storytelling. The first verse and pre-chorus thrive with minimalism, focusing on her captivating vocal and building anticipation for where the track will take you next. This level of restraint is the perfect companion for opening lyrics that hold nothing back, hitting with undeniable honesty; ‘I can see right through the fears you hide’. The production expands in the chorus to explore more pop-centric territory yet successfully avoids ever sounding conventional.

Speaking about the track, Tey says: “Every Part is about the person you’d walk through fire for, that you’d feel lost without. That kind of love is usually very powerful yet makes you the most fragile. It’s about the fear of losing the one that makes everything make sense.”

Dominique Tey’s ‘Every Part’ is out now via Toothfairy Records, with her yet-to-be-announced debut EP arriving later this year.
