Album Review: Metal Church – Damned If You Do

A review on Damned If You Do, the twelfth studio album from Metal Church.

Metal Church is an American heavy metal band. They originally formed in San FranciscoCalifornia in 1980 before relocating to AberdeenWashington the following year and briefly using the name Shrapnel. Their self titled debut album was released in 1984.

Damned If You Do is the twelfth studio album by American heavy metal band Metal Church, released on December 7, 2018 through Rat Pak Records.[1] This will be their first release with former W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland, who replaced longtime member Jeff Plate in 2017, and the second Metal Church studio album with vocalist Mike Howe since he rejoined the group in 2015. Music videos were made for “Damned If You Do” and “By the Numbers”.

Overall, Damned If You Do proves that Mike Howe is still more than able to screech and growl along to a good metal rhythm. This album probably won’t win any new fans or catch the ears of first-time listeners, but it still has all the elements and fire that Metal Church is known for delivering. Church is in session and it’s a sermon that metal fans are comfortable hearing every time.
