Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, the 16 year old singer/songwriter, Brooke Hummel is ready to make a name for herself in 2016 with the release of her newest single, “Cruel.” As a young teen traveling through her high school years, Brooke has collected every instance, encounter, and struggle with bullying in this very raw, delicate, and personal new single. “Cruel” fleshes out every emotional bullying encounter that she has faced and turned it in to a song to help other teens face bullies head on. Today, Brooke has exclusively partnered with TWIST Magazine to unveil the track and provide tips and tricks for other teens that are bullied.
Along with this breathtaking and intimate song, Brooke will be hosting a “Stop, Block, Tell” teen summit in her hometown this spring. The intuitive event will allow local teens to tackle bullying head on with unique skits, poems, powerful talks, and more. Growing up in a musical family, Brooke Hummel quickly found her passion in singing. It was her dad that enforced Hummel’s diverse musical taste and devoted her younger years to listening to all types of music. Born in Ocala, FL and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, Hummel quickly built a strong foundation in the Tampa area singing at charity events and in her family church choir. However it was in 2012 when Hummel and her family packed up and moved to Blowing Rock, NC that she honed in on her skill-set performing at local festivals and showcases. It was then that Hummel was discovered by BNR Records A&R, Jermaine Spencer, in Charlotte, NC in early 2014. Spencer, blown away from the youthfulness and kind-hearted spirit of Hummel that he signed her to BNR Records in May 2014. Spencer added, “It was something special about Brooke’s voice, captivating spirit, work ethic, and the love of her family that sealed the deal for us”. Since signing to BNR Records, Hummel has been working tirelessly to develop her sound, image, and brand and was even but through BNR artist “boot camp” to accelerate her development. Today, the pop/country songstress is proud to have released her debut single “Favorite Song” which is being promoted on iHeart Radio’s Channel 96.1 and Disney/Nickelodeon channels via TWC. Hummel plans to continue to inspire her peers to be better people and have fun through her music.
