Blues Traveler

4/27/17 – Genesee Theatre – Waukegan, IL.

By Bradley Todd

Blues Traveler is currently on a Spring/Summer tour, perhaps as a warm up for their 30th anniversary tour which begins later this year, and made a recent stop at Waukegan’s grand Genesee Theatre to give the greater Chicagoland area some good rock of the blues & jam variety.

The set included all of Blues Travelers hits, a killer version of Charlie Daniels Band’s The Devil Went Down to Georgia, and extended jams prominently featuring singer John Popper’s signature harmonica stylings. Several fans in the rows up front were the lucky recipients of Popper’s generosity as he tossed a few of his harmonicas out to the crowd.
