Boston Calling Announces 2023 Lineup (Foo Fighters, The Lumineers, Paramore & more)

Boston’s annual music festival Boston Calling has announced its 2023 lineup, taking place on Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-28, at Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, MA. For its twelfth installment, the New England-based festival will feature over fifty performers, with legendary acts Foo Fighters, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, The Lumineers, Alanis Morissette and Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlining over the course of three days.

Foo Fighters and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are set to perform on Friday (5/26). Foo Fighters are returning after cancelling their 2022 set due to the sudden death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. They were additionally scheduled for the festival’s 2020 and 2021 editions, both of which were cancelled due to COVID. This is the first show the band have announced following Hawkins’ untimely passing; in a recent statement on Instagram, they promised fans they’d see them again “soon”, and said “we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.” Fans sill await news on who will replace Hawkins on drums.

Folk hitmakers The Lumineers and seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette headline Saturday (5/27), surely drawing a diverse crowd. This performance will mark Morissette’s first time in Boston in over a decade. Paramore, soon to release their upcoming sixth studio album, This is Why, and hard rockers Queens of the Stone Age headline Sunday (5/29), closing out the festival with a bang.

Other prominent acts schedule to perform include The National, Noah Kahan, Bleachers, Niall Horan, Mt. Joy, The Flaming Lips, Maren Moris, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, who had to pull out of last year’s lineup at the last minute due to a positive COVID test. More than 20 New England artists are also featured in the lineup, including Q-Tip Bandits, GA-20, Juice, Alisa Amador, Mint Green, Neemz, Blue Light Bandits, Ali McGuirk, Coral Moons, Actor Observer, Workman Song, Brandie Blaze, Couch, Little Fuss, Najee Janey, Summer Cult, Sorry Mom and Chrysalis.

Along with their VIP, Platinum, and GA ticket tiers, Boston Calling 2023 is introducing a GA+ ticket level for this year’s festival. GA+ ticketholders can access the festival’s VIP Reserve Lounge, an “oasis within the festival” featuring craft cocktails, an expanded beer and wine menu, complimentary water and soft drinks, and more.

Over the years, Boston Calling has transformed into one of the premier music festivals of New England with a strong mix of indie rock, hip-hop, and legendary artists. This year’s lineup is surely no exception, thoughtfully curated with diverse genres and acts from all over the world. The weekend also offers festivalgoers the chance to fall in love with new sounds, a Boston Calling hallmark since the festival’s debut in 2013.
