A Guide to Toronto’s Field Trip Festival

Field Trip: Toronto’s beloved cityscape music festival is finally returning this year after going on hiatus in 2019, with the hopes of a big return in 2020. The pandemic obviously had other plans for another two years following but now the indie fest is officially set to return this Saturday, July 9th at Toronto’s Fort York grounds.

Hosted by Arts & Crafts, the record label co-founded by Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, the one day festival will feature a line-up of indie pop/rock royalty with appearances by Kurt Vile and the Violators, Busty and the Bass, headliners Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and many more.

Speaking on the festival’s big return, Kevin Drew said, “I think live music is going to play a major part in helping people recover from the last few years. There’s nothing more incredible than being in a crowd, feeling the pumping thunder of a band, and you all share this common feeling of – they speak to me, I identify with this, I understand this.”

Apart from names above, here is a list of must-see bands at this year’s Field Trip. Tickets available here
