Alexander 23 shares new single + video for “Somebody’s Nobody”

Today, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Alexander 23 releases the mournful and anthemic breakup song “Somebody’s Nobody.” The heart-wrenching song is the latest taste of Alexander 23’s forthcoming full-length debut Aftershock, which is due on July 15. Pre-save HERE. This new single also arrives alongside the news of a full-fledged tour in support of Aftershock, which begins in October.

“Somebody’s Nobody” is a slow-building ballad that shows off Alexander’s unfiltered songwriting and vocal power over icy piano melodies. As strings creep into the mix, the Illinois native describes the emotional fallout of a breakup: “Now I don’t know, maybe it’s even worse/ being somebody’s nobody.” The video mirrors the isolation Alexander outlines in his lyrics—it stars him walking through a desolate landscape at night as he recounts his sadness.

This new single is taken from the much-anticipated Aftershock, which is set for release on July 15. With songs like “Crash,” “If We Were A Party,” “The Hardest Part,” and the Olivia Rodrigo co-write “Hate Me If It Helps,” Aftershock will showcase the full spectrum of Alexander 23’s musical powers.

“This new release is full of the most honest songs I’ve ever written — and some of them are vulnerable in very scary ways,” Alexander recently told Hunger. “I’m terrified, but I worked really fucking hard. I’m really proud of it and I think it’s fucking good. I’m excited for people to hear it.”

In July, Alexander will play a set at Lollapalooza in Chicago and headline one of the legendary festival’s official after parties. He then embarks on a full headlining tour of North America and Europe in the fall, which kicks off in Vancouver, Canada on October 7 and winds up in Milan, Italy on November 27. Buy tickets HERE.
