Fickle Friends unveil official music video for “Pretty Great”

Fickle Friends have released “Pretty Great,” the second single from their forthcoming sophomore record, due out this year on Cooking Vinyl. The band has also released an accompanying music video which serves as commentary on today’s disconnected society, watch now.

“We’re always on our phones. Not really present. Two people are torn away from that and form a real connection and it’s beautiful,” shares front woman Natti Shiner of the inspiration behind “Pretty Great.” The new single sets the tone for Fickle Friends in 2020, picking up where “Amateurs” left off in 2019 which flawlessly continues the band’s legacy of creating tracks Stereogum has called “infectious” and Nylon described as “upbeat synth-drenched pop.”

One of the indie-pop’s most consistent and focused bands, Fickle Friends spent most of 2019 focused on returning to the DIY roots that sparked over 100 million global streams and a Top 10 Debut Record in the U.K. with You Are Someone Else. “Pretty Great” joins the band’s catalog of thoughtful bops, including “Brooklyn,” Glue,” “Wake Me Up,” and “Swim,” that possess transparently honest messaging about maneuvering our early 20s and the anxiety and heartbreak that can accompany the steps we take to transition each new chapter in our lives.

The band are now back in full control of their songwriting, recording, and production and as a result feel at their strongest and most kinetic in years. They launch 2020 with wind at their back – off a run of sold out warm-up shows in the UK, test-driing some of the new music to adoring crowds in every venue. This year promises more shows, more music and on the strength of “Pretty Great,” it looks set to be a Fickle Friends’ party that no-one will want to miss.
