Early Friday morning, Pearl Jam began a series of teases on social media promoting what fans believe to be their latest studio album. Although the band has actively been touring for a while, Pearl Jam hasn’t released a full length album since 2013’s Lightning Bolt.
After a series of Instagram posts, the band launched a new website extension on pearljam.com where fans could find special coordinates around the world on an interactive map. The map led to billboards and posters in various cities where fans could hold up their phones, use a designated filter and see a moving image of what is believed to be the album’s new artwork.
Many fans believe the locations on the map will also be tour dates announced at a later date. So far, Pearl Jam has only confirmed a summer European tour with both arena shows and festival gigs.
