The final day of Warped Tour’s 25th Anniversary shows culminated at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, bringing together fans old and new to celebrate long-running festival’s legacy.
As the last stop on this year’s goodbye tour, many of the day’s performers were left incredulous and sentimental at the ending of such a staple in music culture. Many, like Juliet Simms and The All-American Rejects (whose separate gallery can be found here), reminisced about growing up on Warped Tour, while other younger acts reveled in the glory of performing on stages they had watched as fans for so many years.
The mood was bittersweet, but the energy of bands and fans alike ensured that Warped Tour went out in a blaze of glory. When NOFX ran into transportation trouble and were late to arrive on-site, performers from throughout the day joined onstage for raucous covers of the headlining band. Yungblud treated the audience to a performance of “I Think I’m Okay” twice, alongside special guest Machine Gun Kelly.
Despite the melancholy of the end of such an impactful cultural institution as Warped Tour, all in attendance were a testament to its enduring spirit. We may no longer have a summer of crowd-surfing, skate ramps, and punk rock to look forward to, but the spirit of Warped Tour will live on. Thanks for the memories, Warped Tour. We hope we’ll see you again.
