On Thursday, July 25, 2019, the 41st season of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! festival continued at Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn, NY. The evening’s lineup featured free performances by Canada’s Broken Social Scene and London’s Nilüfer Yanya. Yanya kicked the show off at 7:35PM after headlining Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday night (July 23rd) and making her U.S. late night television debut on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” the same evening. Broken Social Scene were initially billed as a surprise headliner when the Celebrate Brooklyn!’s schedule was first released and after their run of shows at Webster Hall concluded in May, it was revealed that they’d return to the New York City area in the summer. BSS were joined by Amy Millan (Stars) on vocals and wrapped up their set earlier than expected. Since the band had additional time before the 10:30PM curfew, they performed “Ibi Dreams of Pavement” from their 2005 self-titled record before thanking the audience a final time and concluding the show.
