Live Review & Gallery: Kings of Chaos at Riveredge Park, Aurora, IL., 2019-06-22

Kings of Chaos, the rock supergroup with the rotating cast, visited Aurora, Illinois’ Riveredge Park on 6/22/19, and featured Dee Snider (singer, Twisted Sister), Sebastian Bach (singer, formerly of Skid Row), Lou Gramm (singer, formerly of Foreigner), Warren DiMartini (guitarist, formerly of Ratt), Gilby Clarke (guitarist, formerly of Guns ‘n’ Roses), James Lomonzo (bass, formerly of White Lion, Megadeth), and Kenny Aronoff (drummer, formerly of John Mellencamp).

The group was super (!) and played the hits from all the aforementioned bands (see setlist below, along with gallery) on a perfect summer evening along the Fox River at Auruora’s lovely outdoor venue with the wonderful sunsets.

And if getting to hear hits from some of the greatest bands of the 80’s (and even the 70’s in Foreigner’s case) performed by the top notch pros that created them wasn’t enough, there was the chance of leaving the venue a little richer for the experience: Sebastian Bach actually threw a $20 bill into the audience to a Ratt fan wearing that group’s shirt. Seeing a musician throwing money into the crowd was a first for me, but was a nice light-hearted moment in a night filled with many, as the performers were very interactive the crowd, getting everyone involved in the show. Leading the way in that regard was 64 year old Dee Snider, who absolutely blew me away with his endless energy and enthusiasm. He was the first singer to perform, and really set the mood for the fun that was to follow.
