The Melvins announce extensive US Tour

The Melvins return to U.S. highways this fall as the band preps for a 10-week tour across the country, kicking off on Sept. 3 at The Casbah in San Diego.

Joining the Melvins for the tour are Redd Kross and Sweden’s ShitKid. Redd Kross, who are prepping a new album, and the Melvins share a communal band member with bass player Steven McDonald performing in both outfits. Melvins’ drummer Dale Crover will also pull double duty, manning the drums for both his band and Redd Kross. Tickets are on-sale this Friday, May 17, at 10 am local time.

“Redd Kross and ShitKid are two of my favorites. We’ve already done fantastic European tours with both of these bands so I know bringing them out with us on this trip will be a total mind blower for the lucky fans,” said Buzz Osborne of the tour line-up.

The news of the outing arrives as Ipecac Recordings preps a combined vinyl reissue of the Melvins’ classics The Maggot and The Bootlicker. A release date will be announced soon. Amphetamine Reptile features the trio of bands on a pair of hyper limited releases, available exclusively on the tour.
