Formed at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institue For Performing Arts [LIPA], Wide Eyed Boy are one part German, one part Australian and two parts British. The still-Liverpool based band spent 2018 grabbing international attention, with a 20-top Germany airplay single, and Europe-wide shows played in support of The Libertines, Feeder, The Rifles and The Riptide Movement.
Taken from their ‘Sun Again’ EP, which was recorded at Parr Street Studios by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Clean Cut Kid, Cabbage), they return this week with a new single ‘Sun Again’. A powerful slice of indie-rock propelled by driving drums and racing guitars, ‘Sun Again’ delivers a taste of the energetic performances the band are becoming known for. It comes accompanied by a new video staring German actor Daniel Donskoy.
“Sun Again” is a really personal song about letting go. Escaping inner demons.. escaping the massive expectations people put themselves under and just allowing oneself to live life the way you want to. Especially in this world of social media and instant gratification we sometimes forget to just BE. We are so focussed on what others are doing and so busy comparing ourselves to others that we forget to appreciate our own uniqueness. – Oli Nagy
