Live Review + Gallery: Doyle at The Gramercy Theatre in New York, NY on October 14, 2018

Doyle’s As We Die World Abomination Tour made a horrifically glorious stop in New York City’s The Gramercy Theatre on October 14th. The band is made up of  Misfits’ larger-than-life guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein and Cancerslug’s frontman Alex ‘Wolfman’ Story. Featured as the supporting acts for the night were Brooklyn natives ANAKA and Rooftop Rebellion. They amped up the energy so when “The Woo Woo Boys” ripped into the first notes of ‘Abominator’ that was it for me. I was convinced I was in for an unforgettable night of unadulterated rock-n-roll fun.

Von Frankenstein and Wolfman brought with them an endless supply of the most intriguing and salacious love songs I’ve ever heard. In the setlist were crowd-pleasers ‘DreamingDeadGirls’, ‘Cemeterysexxx’, and ‘We Belong Dead’. All risque, all love songs, and all immensely fun. The ever-entertaining Wolfman performs each and every song with an unrivaled level of vigor that is only seen when someone has a real passion for their craft. Von Frankenstein is an absolute legend in his own right. The unwavering intensity and showmanship the man demonstrated on that stage is the reason why live music continues to brings people together.

If the As We Die World Abomination Tour stops by a city near you, make sure to check out Doyle. It’ll sure be one hell of a rockin’ romantic night out you will never forget.
