Album Review: Greta Van Fleet – Anthem Of The Peaceful Army

A review on Anthem Of The Peaceful Army, the debut full album from Michigan’s Greta Van Fleet.

Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner.  The band’s heavy rock sound is said to be heavily influenced by the work of Led Zeppelin although they are mostly influenced by traditional artists from blues, soul, funk and folk music, along with many other rock acts.

Anthem of the Peaceful Army is the upcoming debut studio album by American rock band Greta Van Fleet. The album is scheduled for release on October 19, 2018, and follows the band’s original two EPreleases, Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires. The first single, “When the Curtain Falls“, was released in July 2018.

Overall, Anthem Of The Peaceful Army is a worthy tribute by four musicians dedicated to a sound that has been lost over the years. Whether you see Gretva Van Fleet as ripping off a band’s sound or see them as a wanted new coming in rock, it’s safe to say that there is music in this debut LP that just about anyone can find and enjoy.
