Thursday night fans at Gramercy Theatre in New York City were treated to an onslaught of classic metal. With the crowd already in a frenzy after veteran thrash icons Flotsam and Jetsam blew them away with a set mainly composed of their first two albums that included such fan favorites like “Hammerhead, She Took an Axe and Desecrator“. As fans in the crowd held their fist high in the air cheering “Hammerfall, Hammerfall, Hammerfall” one thing was clear that these fans were ready for more metal. The lights dimmed and the members of Hammerfall began to take the stage one by one to a defining applause from the crowd, as the lights came on and with the strike of the first cord of “Hector’s Hymn” the defining applause hightened as fans were propelled further into a frenzy of metal. With their anthem like songs that scream for you to sing along and an audience that is more then happy to oblige with fist waving high in the air. The veteran Swiss metal band put on an incredible performance for their fans that night. Between the synchronized guitar dips of Dronjak, Norgren, and Larsson to the amazing stage presence of lead frontman Joacim Cans, Hammerfall took every opportunity they could to deliver a show to remember.
