Veteran thrashers Prong were greeted with a warm welcome Wednesday night at New York City’s Highline Ballroom as the band took to the stage while Cheech and Chong’s “Earache My Eye” played over the house P.A. system. With fans in the crowd screaming “Welcome home Tommy”, as the band immediately got the crowd roaring by going straight for the old school stuff opening their set with “For Dear Life” followed behind by the bands 1990 breakthrough single and album title track “Beg to Differ”. With Tommy Victor’s gritty guitar riffs backed by Jason Christopher on bass and Art Cruz’s punishing drum pounding, the band ripped through song after song from old to new for close to an hour before finishing up their set with the hit single “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck” off of 1994’s “Cleansing”.
