Through Fire visited Springfield, MO for Q102’s charity event Toys for Tickets, an annual concert that serves as a toy drive for the local community. The band joined along-side Fozzy, Deadset Society, and Springfield locals T.R.O.Y. for one hell-of-a-night.
The passionate performance burst into full head banging for “Breakout” and “Where You Lie.” Bassist Kyle Leblanc encouragingly beat his chest while singing along back at the fan’s faces. Fists were illuminated underneath red lighting as the band sung the word “lie.”
“Who came here to sing tonight?” asked front-man Grant Kendrick. He continued, “We want you to sing loud. This one is called “Breathe.”‘ The audience cheered wildly for the heavy bass ballad, and some fans grabbed each other and swayed while singing along to the song. A rockin’ rendition of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” graced the set list, which carried a steady marching beat.
The fan interaction continued as Kendrick introduced “Damage,” making a joke about those drinking and that’s what the upcoming song was about. The cutest little kid, no older than seven years old, broke down dancing during the empowering track. The packed house reciprocated Through Fire’s high energy during “Stronger” for a solid finish to their set. “This song is to someone who says you can’t live your fucking dream. We’re living proof.”
Keep Through Fire on your watch list – these guys will without a doubt be a rising band throughout 2018. Through Fire is closing out the year strong with their Breakout Tour across the U.S. and will be joining forces with Fozzy early next year.
