CRASHING ATLAS, DROP NEW TRACK, “ASCEND”

Baltimore-based alt/hard rock band, Crashing Atlas, drop the track “Savages”  from their forthcoming album Ascend. Due out September 22, 2017, the band has been rising in the ranks with the support of Spencer Sotelo (Periphery), engineer Taylor Larson (From First To Last, Veil of Maya, I See Stars) and producers, Billy Decker (Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean), Jim DeMain (Elton John, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Rod Pires (American Wolves).

Founded by Felix Nieto (guitar/synth), Dougie Chi-Town (guitar/background vocals) and  Chris “Blosk” Bloskey (drums), Crashing Atlas came to full formation in December 2016 when Shelby Celine jumped in to handle lead vocals.  “Their inspirations are as diverse as the members themselves are. Chris Bloskey says his heart belongs to Jazz and as he put it, ‘Jammier stuff.’ He listed such well-known greats as Buddy Rich, Louis Armstrong, and less well known, but still greats such as Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and Fela Kuti. Meanwhile Dougie has clearly brought a much more rock-based source with him: Stone Temple Pilots, The Doors, Seether to name a few. Felix, while a fan of bands such as Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, John Mayer. “ (Nerd Problems)  In January, the quartet released a self-produced single and caught the attention of Mowery, Sotelo and Larsen. The concept behind Ascend is about being in an unpleasant situation while remaining aware that there is a  Utopian type place that one could escape to if so desired. The title track is about breaking free of that negative situation, whether it be a bad relationship, drug use or depression, and rising above it.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements and new music from Crashing Atlas leading up to the release of Ascend.
