7 Ways You Can Practice Music While Travelling

If you’re going to be traveling a bit in the future, you’re probably wondering how the heck you’re going to be able to keep practicing your music while out on the road. Well, the chances are high that you’ve got to keep practicing because you want to become the master of your instrument. You can’t afford to take long breaks in the middle of practices. That’s why we’re here to help. There are plenty of ways that you can bring your music along with you when you travel and keep the practice going. Keep reading down below to learn more about how you can do that this summer!

1.) Bring Your Music Class with You

One of the best ways that you’re going to be able to practice your music while you’re traveling is by looking online. There are plenty of classes online that can teach you everything from improvisation to some new notes on your instrument. Try searching some on YouTube and Google to see what you can find! There is sure to be a class that’s perfect for you to pick up while you’re traveling.

2.) Visualization

If you don’t have your instrument with you, then you can easily just take some sheet music along with you and visualize playing. You can read through the music without the instrument and just play along in your head. This is a great way to ensure that you know your music without even having your instrument along. While you’re away from home, you have to visit this site if you want to automate your home while you’re away.

3.) Air Guitar

Another great way to take that visualization to the next level is to practice playing your instrument in the air. No matter whether that’s an air guitar or an air saxophone, this is a great way to practice where your hands and your fingers are going whenever you play. Who says that you need to bring along a physical instrument to practice your music?

4.) Bring Along a Smaller Instrument

Of course, another way to keep up your musical training is to just bring along a smaller instrument with you. For example, if you are learning how to play the guitar, why not bring along a ukulele? These smaller instruments are going to give you the same level of musical lessons in a small package that you don’t get with your larger instrument.

5.) Use Your Voice

Of course, you come already equipped with an instrument! If you are worried that you won’t be able to get enough practice in with your voice, don’t worry! There is going to be plenty of space on your trip to do some ranges and sing some from your sheet music. Even if you don’t have the best voice, you can still sing through some notes on your sheet music that will give you an idea of what it will sound like on your instrument of choice.

6.) Find Out About Local Jam Sessions

No matter where you go in the world, there are going to be people playing music. You can do some searches once you’re at your destination to determine what kind of local jam sessions are happening. They might have a community center where people just come and play some music for a couple of hours. This is a great way for you to meet new people and keep practicing your instrument when you’re on the road.

7.) Active Listening

Of course, another great way for you to practice your music is by active listening. All you’ve got to do is stick in your headphones and listen to the notes that are being played and you will be able to get what’s happening. This practice might not seem like it relates to playing your musical instrument, but it definitely does!

There you have it. Even when you’re out there traveling this summer, there are plenty of great ways for you to get some practice in that you might not otherwise. Which instrument are you going to practice?
