Christopher Hawley Releases New Full-Length Album Stories

Christopher Hawley releases STORIES today on Bigger Better More Records. Beautifully produced with co-writer Randy Wooten, it takes a roots-rock palate and adds memorable touches like barrel-house piano, reverb-soaked guitar, and modern synth sounds. Hawley’s vocals lend the songs a remarkable sense of intimacy.

However it’s the collaboration between the two songwriters that makes Stories shine. The songs are smart and compelling, and there’s a depth to the tales they tell that makes you want to listen closer.

“The approach was collaborative, from the songwriting all the way through the recording process,” Hawley says, “It felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders with Randy in the producer’s chair: In the past, I’d done almost everything myself, so to be able to show up focused on the music was liberating.”

STORIES ranges from fun, lighthearted tunes like his single “9 Tattoos”, to heartfelt narratives like his song, “Better With You”. Hawley’s voice has a way of putting you at ease, and yet holding your attention captive to the tales he tells throughout the album, it is aptly named. He is often compared to folk-pop voices like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz, so if that is your jam you should listen to this record.

Hawley has toured all over the globe, and touring is his favorite part of being an artist. He is such a fan of live performance, that he produces an acoustic music festival called Folk-n-Soak, appropriately at a hot springs inn SoCal. After Folk-n-Soak wraps in late July, the Christopher Hawley Rollers CD Release Tour will kick off, bringing him from Southern California all the way to Lake Tahoe and through Yosemite.

STORIES will be released on June 23rd
