PLAIN WHITE T’s Return With “Land Of The Living”

GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum alt-rock band, Plain White T’s, have premiered their new song “Land Of The Living,” the latest from the group since their 2015 release American Nights today exclusively via Billboard. The band is also excited to announce their return to Fearless Records. In conjunction with the release of the song, the music video is also now streaming via Billboard. “Land Of The Living'” will be available on iTunes and Spotify tonight starting at 9pm PT/12am ET.

The quintet rejoins Fearless Records after signing with the label in early 2000 and releasing their certified gold albums, All That We Needed, and later in conjunction with Hollywood RecordsEvery Second Counts, featuring mega-hit single “Hey There Delilah.” Now, Plain White T’s are thrilled to reunite with Fearless Records for the next exciting chapter of their career. The band will head into the studio this summer to record their new album, slated for release in early 2018.

“The Plain White T’s have not only been one of the most successful bands ever on Fearless but the most hard working, humble and nicest bands to work with,” says Fearless Records President and Founder Bob Becker. “The band had the chance to move to a major label which allowed them more opportunity, but we have always kept a strong relationship with them.  When we saw that they were interested in working with us again, we jumped at the chance. We expect that, as always, they will deliver another great record with the amazing songs that they are known for writing.”

“Fearless was the first label to ever support us and believe in the band, so it just seems so natural to reunite with them after all these years,” says vocalist and guitarist Tom Higgenson. “Land Of The Living is a song that can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For us, it’s about following your passion no matter what, and enjoying the ups and downs along the way.”

Plain White T’s teamed up with Project Greenlight Digital Studios (PGLDS) to create the music video for “Land of The Living.”  PGLDS is an open, story-driven, creative community that exists to empower the next generation of great filmmakers.  In July of 2016, PGLDS launched a nationwide search for an independent director to create the video, and Melanie D’Andrea was selected from six finalists as the winner. Shot in November 2016, the video follows a group of the elderly residents in a nursing home, who enter their regimented daily routine – wake up, get dressed, take prescriptions, and then head to the virtual reality room where they live the lives they wished they had though Virtual Reality headsets. When one of them escapes, however, their perception of what is possible forever changes and wild mischief ensues.

Plain White T’s are currently on a 2-week tour in California, in association with High School Nation, playing high schools that are opening new music studios to encourage music programs in schools.

ABOUT PLAIN WHITE T’S:
Plain White T’s – composed of Tom Higgenson, Tim Lopez, Dave Trio, De’Mar Hamilton and Mike Retondo – kicked off their vibrant career in the Chicago suburbs in 1997, playing a unique blend of pop, punk, and melody-driven rock and roll in basements and clubs across the metro area. Two decades later, the quintet has become a global success, with thousands of shows, a string of multi-platinum hit singles (“Rhythm of Love,” “1, 2, 3, 4”) and one of the most downloaded songs of all time under their belts: GRAMMY-nominated “Hey There Delilah.” The quintet first came to Fearless Records in early 2000, releasing their certified gold albums, All That We Needed, and later in conjunction with Hollywood Records, Every Second Counts, featuring mega-hit single “Hey There Delilah,” which propelled the band to superstardom and lead them to become one of the most praised bands in American rock. In total, the band has released seven full-length studio albums, creating epic rock songs and acoustic-leaning ballads that have made them a household name. Now, Plain White T’s are thrilled to return to Fearless Records for the next exciting chapter of their career with a brand new single called “Land of The Living,” – the first taste of new music from the group since their self-released 2015 album, American Nights. The band will head into the studio this summer to record their new album, slated for release in early 2018.

ABOUT “NOW RECORDING” CONTEST:

Project Greenlight Digital Studios (PGLDS)’s “Now Recording” contest sought talented independent directors to create the latest music video for chart-topping, Grammy®-nominated musicians Plain White T’s (“Hey There Delilah,” “Rhythm of Love”).  In August, contestants were asked to send a minute long pitch to PGLDS explaining their idea for the video.  Six finalists then received $2,000 to create a short concept video based on their original pitch. The winning video was directed by Melanie D’Andrea, who received $3,000 in cash prizes and $25,000 to create the video for the band’s newest single, Land of the Living.
