Post Modern Release Music Video for “Speak Soft”

Ambient rock quartet Post Modern from Columbus, OH has debuted their new single and music video “Speak Soft”. The atmospheric and melodic track would be right at home on a playlist with bands like Brand New and Circa Survive, while maintaining a certain amount of pop sensibility. The video is bathed in crimson red and paints a picture of the lyrics, which deal with the loss of faith and the inner conflict that can result from efforts of redemption.

I wrote this song describing my relationship with God, and trying to regain the communication and connection that has seemed to erode over the years,” says vocalist/guitarist Matty McClelland. “However, it can describe a loss and desire to reconnect with anyone, like a friend, lover, or parent. ‘Speak Soft’ is a personal song for me specifically, but I wanted almost anyone to be able to relate to it and the struggle it describes.

The band recently completed a run of dates with Dreamcatcher (featuring the former guitarist of The Dangerous Summer), with plans to hit the road again soon. “Speak Soft” is available now on iTunes and Spotify, and is a follow-up to their latest EP The Current.

Post Modern is a 4-piece ambient rock band based out of Columbus, OH. Formed in mid 2015, the band is made up of vocalist/guitarist Matty McClelland, drummer/vocalist Nick Scarberry, guitarist Aaron Wicklow and bassist Aaron Nichols.

With naturally atmospheric instrumentals and often haunting vocals, the group’s melodic sound leaves a lasting impression to listeners. This can be found most prominently in their lead single “Fury” and most recent outing “Rooms”.

Heading into 2017, continuing to tour the Midwest + East Coast regions, leading the effort with brand new song “Speak Soft”, POMO sits on a handful of new material and is set to release a new record in 2017.
