DREAMCAR Releases Music Video for “Kill for Candy” from Debut Album out May 12th

DREAMCAR shared the official music video for “Kill For Candy”, the lead single off their debut self-titled album, due out May 12 via Columbia Records. Shot using an innovative wearable camera, the POV style clip allows the viewer to experience a day in the life of DREAMCAR, through the eyes of the band’s four members. Directed by Frank Borin, the music video for “Kill For Candy” premiered on Vevo.

DREAMCAR features members of Southern California’s seminal pop/rock band No Doubt – Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont – and dynamic frontman for AFI, Blaqk Audio and XTRMST, Davey Havok. “Kill For Candy” was world-premiered last month on the Kevin & Bean show on KROQ  and is available now HERE.

DREAMCAR today also announced a release week performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Tune in to CBS on May 11 at 12:37am/11:37pm Central to catch their appearance. Later this month, they will make their network television debut performing “Kill For Candy” on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 18 at 11:35pm/10:35pm Central.

Following the announcement of their sold out WEST COAST tour dates around their appearances at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, DREAMCAR today announced additional live dates to take place next month. Click HERE for a complete list of upcoming live dates and ticket information.

There’s something romantic about a band’s early days. In the summer of 2014, No Doubt’s Tony Kanal [bass], Tom Dumont [guitar], and Adrian Young [drums] and singer Davey Havok [AFI, Blakq Audio] began writing and demoing music together. Without telling a soul outside of their significant others, the four musicians clandestinely moved into a cramped downtown Los Angeles rehearsal spot and revved up what would become DREAMCAR. The union of Kanal, Dumont, Young, and Havok pre-dates those magical jam sessions. Paths crossed in the music industry as they do, but Young can recall standing on the side of the stage and watching Havok with rapt attention as Blaqk Audio opened for No Doubt in 2012. The seeds became planted then.

Rife with shimmering guitar tones, funky slap bass, bombastic drums, and a neon-lit dance floor dreaminess, DREAMCAR gleefully nods to the decade of Boy George and Back to the Future through a kaleidoscope of wisdom earned from three decades creating and connecting with fans worldwide. Signing to Columbia Records, the boys recorded their 2017 self-titled debut with producer Tim Pagnotta [Neon Trees] in a North Hollywood studio. The Dream begins now.
