Von Sell is an artist to watch out for in 2016. With a steady stream of singles that have been building a ton of attention for the artist, it all leads up to his upcoming EP, Von Sell, out this Friday, October 14th. Over the course of a little over a year, we have had the chance to hear what Von Sell brings to the table. His lead singles, “I Insist,” and “Ivan” have been charting on Hype Machine, and making quite an impression on Soundcloud and Spotify as well.
“Names” is the newest single in tow, that has people buzzing this afternoon, and diving deeper into the EP, it is noticeable why. Von Sell’s extensive musical training helps into crafting the perfect songs throughout the record. The vocals that are laced within are heavenly, as brainchild David Von Sell carries each piece with a grace and beauty, as his voice shifts from one song to the next.
Songs such as “Miss Me,” are ambitious and playful, creating a Sufjan Stevens like piece as it’s airy vocals are flawless and wrapped with electro perfection. The first track off the record, “Energy Stabs” recalls Grizzly Bear at the height of their career. With enchanting piano we hear elegant notes placed throughout which wraps with swirling guitars and Von Sell’s impeccable vocals and harmonies.
