FICKLE FRIENDS Premieres New Single “Cry Baby”

Fickle Friends have premiered their new single “Cry Baby” on Stereogum and Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 show – PRESS HERE to listen! The song, which was recorded in LA earlier this year with producer Mike Crossey (Foals, The 1975), was inspired by John Waters’ cult film Cry Baby, and supports Fickle Friends’ incandescent indie-pop as a refreshing, summer-ready release. PRESS HERE to purchase “Cry Baby,” which is out on B3SCI Records in the US, and PRESS HERE to preorder the limited edition pink vinyl 7′ of the single.

“I watched the John Waters film on New Year’s Day with someone I’d just started hanging out with and the title ‘Cry Baby’ definitely triggered something in me,” frontwoman Natti Shiner said of the song. “As quite a cynical person I’m often very quick to question both my own and other people’s capacity to feel…emotion…anything and that’s what ‘Cry Baby’ is about really. That and the fact I found it quite odd to miss someone I’d only just met.”

The Brighton-based 5 piece of Natti Shiner [vocals/synth], Chris Hall [guitar], Jack Wilson [keys], Harry Herrington [bass] and Sam Morris [drums] have spent the past two years playing over 53 festivals around the UK and Europe, honing their live set and accumulating a dedicated following along the way, and have sold out five headline shows in London. Fickle Friends will be playing Reading & Leeds, Pukkelpop, Pitchfork Festival Paris and more this year and tickets are on sale now for their largest headline show to date at London’s Heaven on November 3rd.
