Two of New Zealand’s most prolific Drum & Bass outfits, Trei and The Upbeats combine forces for this banging new single on Viper Recordings, ‘Tonto / Shangri-La’.
Fresh off a Beatport #1 remix of North Base’s ‘What R U Doing?’ and a brand new track ‘Mirage’ on Viper’s Let It Roll Festival EP, Trei has been firing on all cylinders. Meanwhile, The Upbeats have just dropped the first part of their massive De-Evolution series EP’s including another huge Beatport #1 with ‘Pharaoh’.
‘Tonto’ kicks things off with a suitably intense intro and build-up that’ll get your blood pumping, before dropping straight in to a hard-hitting bassline which is uncompromising in its sheer power and production quality.
Next up is ‘Shangri-La’ which is as exotic as the title suggests – taking on a darker, more mysterious vibe and following up with unpredictable twists and turns throughout. Laying down some seriously intense beats from start to finish, this one’ll keep you on your toes.
Intense and action-packed, it’s safe to say that this collaboration will be smashing a fair few dancefloors this summer!
