It’s been three years since New Jersey indie-rockers Steel Train took the stage with no immediate plans to keep the band going. Though by the enthusiastic reception they received at this past weekend’s Shadow of the City Festival, Steel Train wasn’t far from their fan’s minds. The band played an animated 45 minute set, breaking in between songs to humbly thank the crowd gathered in tight in front of them. Steel Train couldn’t have picked a better return. Held in Asbury Park’s historic Stone Pony Summer Stage, Shadow of the City boasted an eclectic lineup of today’s current indie pop hits (including BØRNS, Carly Rae Jepsen and The 1975 in the headliner spots).
