X Factor’s Jennel Garcia Unveils Debut EP ‘Life Starts Now’

No stranger to the big leagues, spirited pop rocker Jennel Garcia is taking her fearlessness to new heights. Best known for her time on the X Factor’s second season where she thrived as a top 12 finalist under mentor Demi Lovato, Jennel is set on making her own path and embracing her true artistic spirit. This musician has a new outlook on her career and won’t compromise for anyone, and that sentiment shines in her latest EP. With Life Starts Now, the bright EP produced by Zack Odem and Kenneth Mount of ZK Productions (Mayday Parade, Cartel, We Are The In Crowd), fans and newcomers alike can hear spunky self-empowerment in everything from the bubbly melody to the fierce chorus. “‘Life starts now’ means a lot to me because it’s something I said to myself and my family when I auditioned for The X-Factor,”shares Jennel.

“This EP means so much to me not only because it’s my debut, but because it’s like my diary that’s come to life. Each song has its own special meaning to me so I’m excited to finally share it with the world. It’s a way for people to know me better and see another side of me.”

About Jennel Garcia:
Jennel is a 21 year old singer-songwriter from Massachusetts. Most of her recognition stems from her appearance on The XFactor USA season two alongside the four judges Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Demi Lovato, and Britney Spears. Being a fan favorite, Jennel made it to the live shows to work with her mentor Demi Lovato.

Jennel was born in the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts and grew up in the town of Acushnet. Before she could even talk, she used to hum to her favorite TV shows. Jennel first started singing in front of audiences at talent shows at the early age of six, the first of which was at her elementary school where she sang Alicia Keys’ hit “Fallin”. Soon after that she began competing at singing & dance competitions where she became a crowd pleaser with her raspy voice. In 2004, at the age of 10, Jennel auditioned for “America’s Most Talented Kids” where she was chosen as one of the select few to fly to California to perform. There she sang on national television for the first time in her life. Little did she know that she was going to be given another chance later on in life, to perform once again in front of the world on national TV.

At the age of 13, Jennel moved to Rochester with her parents and two siblings, a place she still calls home. Jennel attended and graduated from New Bedford High School in 2012. At the end of her senior year she auditioned for The XFactor. On the day of her high school graduation she got the call telling her that she had made it to the live auditions for the celebrity judges where she went on to become a top 12 finalist and performed on global TV.

Since then Jennel has been writing and recording an album, set to release early 2016. The album is being produced by ZK Productions (Kenneth Mount & Zack Odom).
