The futureheads frontman Barry Hyde announces debut solo album

Responsible for some of the biggest indie anthems of the last 10 years – ‘Decent Days & Nights’, ‘Mean Time’, ‘Skip To The End’, ‘The Beginning Of The Twist’ and, of course, their ‘Hounds Of Love’ cover-version to name just a few – Barry Hyde from The Futurehads will release his debut solo album ‘Malody’ on June 3rd. From it we have the track ‘Sugar’ available to stream:

On the record, Barry says: “Those of you familiar with my work with The Futureheads may be expecting an album of new wave inspired, four-part harmony, guitar music. ‘Malody’ couldn’t be further away from that. The album is based around my first instrument, the piano, and also features violin, cello, double bass, tenor and baritone sax, pedal steel and trumpet.”
