It is always a treat to see Vulfpeck live. Apparently most of NY, NJ, DE and CT thought the same thing because their concert sold out in a matter of hours. The demand for tickets was so high that they scheduled another concert two days later and even then, on the night of the show, as I was lined up preparing to enter the venue, the line of people hopeful to score last minute tickets was wrapped around 2 sides of the building.
Coming off of an appearance the night before on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the band was pumped to play for it’s largest New York crowd ever. The show was amazing. Not only do the 3 of the 4 members of the band trade places and instruments constantly throughout the show, but they had several special guests that came out to sing or play an instrument with them. Among them was Jon Batiste, the band leader for the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, in which they pulled out of the audience for a song.
They put on a great show, the crowd is always super into them and it’s just all around entertaining. So go see them, but be fast, since they tend to sell out so quickly!
