THE ROCKET SUMMER Premieres “Same Air” with DIFFUSER… On Tour Now!

“I wanted to make a record that sounded like doors being kicked in and bombs going off,” Bryce Avary confessed to Diffuser, regarding the seismic shift in THE ROCKET SUMMER‘s signature sound. With this personal directive in check, Avary did exactly that. Packed with bold and infectious, hook-laced riffs, “Same Air”“simultaneously evokes Foster The People and Justin Timberlake” ( Diffuser). The track can be found in full at Diffuser here.

“Same Air” can be purchased here.

“Same Air” represents the first hint at The Rocket Summer’s new album (title TBA), which will be released in early 2016. One of the first songs Avary recorded during the process of writing, the song impeccably bridges the gap between the previous albums and the new, “no rules” approach to the new album. “At the root of it,” Avary confesses, “the song was written as an attempt in my own heart to have an allegiance to everyone amidst the anger and bitterness that can tempt me with how severely messed up this place and we all can be. I wrote it during a brief moment of clarity where I was seeing beyond all the garbage and saw how every soul looks similar to mine: unpleasant, flawed, good, related.”

Following the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2000, The Rocket Summer’s first full-length record, Calendar Days, was released through The Militia Group in February of 2003. Tending upward, Hello, Good Friend, would hit #26 on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart, followed by Do You Feel breaking into the Billboard Top 200 in 2007, debuting at #44 and selling 15,000 records in its first week. The band’s EP, You Gotta Believe would hit #1 on the iTunes Alternative Top 10, peaking at #5 on the overall charts. Their next full-length Of Men and Angels would push the band further into the spotlight, debuting at #1 on the iTunes charts and #38 on the Billboard Top 200. The band would depart from Island Records in 2012, releasing Life Will Write The Words on Aviate Records.
