Diary of Snow Frontman Goes Solo

Jordan LaFaver , a 23 year-old producer, writer, and vocalist, is preparing to launch a solo career. LaFaver, who has received recognition over the last five years as the lead singer of the pop-rock band Diary of Snow, will be pursuing a sonically compelling genre switch, altering his sound to a more R&B influenced blend of pop. On October 31, LaFaver will be dropping the first single of this upcoming solo project. Entitled ‘Run My Mouth,’ the new tune is about his decision to leave his hometown to pursue his music career. It’s an introspective song of sorts, also delving into the friendships LaFaver has lost along the way. Featuring ERIKMVSXN, the song will be released via Snowbound Records, LaFaver’s own independent label. Based out of Boston and Detroit, the label specializes in ‘new-era artist development.’ Fans of Diary of Snow will surely want to follow LaFaver’s new solo efforts. Diary of Snow has built up a modest following over the last five years, defining itself as a unique outfit with emotionally connecting lyrics infused with modern pop rock. Their last release, 2014’s ‘Hunter,’ was a dynamic acoustic-tinged single chock-full of infectious harmonies and sharp production. As aforementioned, though, LaFaver’s latest pursuit is directed more toward R&B. He credits his new sound to his desire to broaden his fanbase, and keep certain boundaries for Diary of Snow, which he considers a more important project. “Diary of Snow will always come first, and I don’t want anyone to think I’ve left the band,” Jordan stated, “but because the project is so close to me and our fans I want to keep the more lighthearted pop stuff as separate as I can. I love making pop and R&B records, but they never meshed with Diary of Snow’s message, so I’m getting it all out of my system as a solo artist. I’m excited to see how people respond, and they can rest assured I’ll be back to work on Diary of Snow when the album is finished. Until then, I hope they show me as much love as they have the band!” Diary of Snow’s highly anticipated (yet unreleased) song ‘Lipstick Stains,’ has been moved to LaFaver’s album, seemingly to preserve the band’s true-to-the-heart message. Fans can connect with Jordan LaFaver, Diary of Snow, and Snowbound Records via Facebook and YouTube, all of which can be found below. ‘Run My Mouth’ is available Saturday, October 31.
